Altijd leuk om op een foto te borduren. Deze foto komt uit een boekje over vrouwen door de jaren heen. Door middel van een stiksteek, een kettingsteek en de bullionsteek heb ik een bh-tje op het papier geborduurd.
Het is handig om eerst de outline met een potlood op de foto te tekenen. Bedenk vervolgens welke dessin je met welke steken wilt gaan borduren. Daarna is het goed om de gaatjes (van je geplande steek) alvast door te prikken met een naald. Het (foto)papier scheurt vaak snel, de doorgeprikte gaatjes geven iets meer houvast, waardoor de kans op scheuren kleiner wordt. Daarna kun je lekker gaan borduren. Nog twee laatste tips: gebruik een niet te lange borduurdraad en trek de draad niet zo hard door het papier.
It is always fun to embroider on a photo. This photo is taken from a booklet about women through the years. A backstitch, a chain stitch and the bullion stitch are used to embroider a bra on the paper.
First it is useful to draw the outline of on the photo with a pencil. Then think about which design you want to embroider with which stitches. Then it is good to pierce the holes (of your planned stitch) with a needle. The (photo) paper often tears quickly, the pierced holes provide a little more grip, reducing the chance of tearing. Then you can start to embroider. Two last tips: use an embroidery thread that is not too long and don't pull the thread through the paper to hard.
